Who am I? Well no one really…
I am someone who –
is not so great at writing a biography page, has been able to scrape by so far with an ingenuous smile, behaves comme une Américaine gâtée when abroad, who these days misses her dance classes more than anything else from her past, always wished she were taller, prefers wearing high heels or being barefoot to stodgy sensible shoes, learned every important life lesson from nuns and other dancers, gets bored easily, has learned to appreciate her hair’s moodiness (when it wants to frizz, let it frizz,) finds people mostly amusing, would sometimes rather read then talk, believes in karmic retribution, wishes there were more reasons in our society to get really dressed up, writes lists almost exclusively for the sense of satisfaction when an item is crossed off, has faith only in what’s authentic - what feels really true, orders too much when out to eat, had no idea that she’s a wistful romantic, is constantly ravenous for something - though not always sure what, is befuddled by babies, strives for timeliness, remains steadfast in keeping her word and does always what she says she will do, shall one day smack Father Time in the face…I refuse to age, is generally content with life, has no idea what the future will hold…
I have credentials; here is what’s relevant:
Graduated from a private girl’s Academy on Long Island (which felt more like a convent school)
BA Hofstra University, Long Island NY – Dance Major
Professional dancer – NY and Philadelphia, nothing notable or worth elaborating on…
Started MA program in art history at Temple University
Worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Sales and Rental Gallery
Changed mind and did Post-Baccalaureate program in Psychology at University of Pennsylvania
Wanted job security, so pursued and received a Culinary degree from The Restaurant School, Walnut Hill, Philadelphia
Worked at Park Hyatt Philadelphia, then after a life-changing disillusionment - Decided to travel – returned to France, again and again and again
Became loyal neophyte to Marnie Old, sommelier extradordinaire, based in Philadelphia
Did some personal chef work, organizing parties and events, started speaking about wine and how wonderful it is
Enrolled at University of Pennsylvania to finish Master’s degree and found myself doing cultural Anthropology with European Studies (almost finished)
Currently one small paper away from the WSET Diploma (will likely submit an Honour’s Thesis)
Much of this happened all at the same time.
Most recently, I’ve found a very worthwhile job worth at a prominent wine store in NY City among interesting and very like-minded people
The cat with me on the contact page is not mine…she belongs to Dawn, my fabulous photographer.
Here is my cat; her name is Sylvie:

For this website, I have to thank:
Dawn, glamourbitch.com photographer, for proving I shouldn’t be camera-shy
Shannon, themakeupfairy.com, because she is just so skilled
Genevieve, LaVo design – because she and her programmer are geniuses
